Introducing the Explorer and Aspire SafeSpace Pod Collections for Schools

Every child deserves a little space — but the spaces that inspire a seven-year-old are often very different from those that resonate with a teenager.

At AgileAcoustics, we've spent years working with schools, local authorities and SEND teams to create environments that support emotional regulation, wellbeing, inclusion and learning. During that time, we've seen first-hand how the needs and aspirations of pupils evolve as they progress through their educational journey.

That's why we've expanded our SafeSpace#6 Pod range to include two distinct themed collections:

Explorer Collection – designed primarily for younger pupils.

Aspire Collection – created for older pupils, secondary schools and post-16 environments.

Together, these collections help schools create SafeSpaces that not only support pupils' wellbeing, but also feel age-appropriate, engaging and inspiring.

A Different Approach to SafeSpaces

Schools are increasingly investing in nurture spaces, sensory environments and SEND provision to support a diverse range of pupil needs.

Whilst these spaces are incredibly important, they can sometimes feel clinical or disconnected from the wider school environment.

We wanted to take a different approach.

Our themed SafeSpace Pods are designed to become destinations that pupils actively want to use. The graphics create curiosity and engagement, whilst the interior remains calm, comfortable and supportive.

The result is a space that encourages emotional regulation, focused learning and reflection without feeling institutiona‍l.

Explorer Collection

Designed primarily for primary-aged pupils, the Explorer Collection uses imaginative themes that encourage curiosity and discovery.

Forest Explorer

A calming connection to nature.

Surrounded by woodland imagery, children can enjoy a relaxing environment inspired by the natural world. The Forest Explorer Pod is ideal for emotional regulation, reflection and wellbeing support.

Wild Horizons

Using stunning natural imagery and landscapes, Wild Horizons creates a calming environment that promotes wellbeing whilst feeling sophisticated and age-appropriate for older pupils.

Space Explorer

A journey beyond the classroom.

Featuring planets, stars and galaxies, the Space Explorer Pod allows children to escape into space without ever leaving school. It creates a sense of adventure whilst providing a safe and supportive environment for reading, nurture activities and focused learning.

Ocean Explorer

An underwater world of discovery.

Featuring vibrant ocean imagery, the Ocean Explorer Pod encourages curiosity and imagination whilst maintaining the calm, supportive atmosphere that is central to every SafeSpace.

Aspire Collection

As pupils transition into secondary education, their preferences and expectations often change.

Feedback from schools highlighted that whilst younger children are naturally drawn to imaginative themes, older pupils often prefer environments that feel more mature, aspirational and aligned with their future ambitions.

This insight inspired the creation of the Aspire Collection.

Future Thinker

Designed around innovation, technology and future possibilities, this concept creates a modern environment that encourages creativity, problem-solving and independent thinking

Global Citizen

Inspired by travel, geography and international connections, Global Citizen encourages pupils to think beyond the classroom and consider the wider world around them.

Together, these themes help create SafeSpaces that support wellbeing whilst also reinforcing aspiration, independence and personal growth.

Supporting Every Stage of the Educational Journey

The introduction of the Explorer and Aspire collections allows schools to align their SafeSpaces with the age and development of their pupils.

Younger children can benefit from environments that encourage imagination and exploration.

Older pupils can access spaces that feel more mature, empowering and reflective of their growing independence.

This progression helps schools create environments that remain relevant and engaging throughout a pupil's educational journey.

Flexible Design Options

Whilst our themed collections have been designed to inspire and engage, we recognise that every school is different.

The SafeSpace#6 Pod is also available in a wide range of high-quality acoustic fabric colours for schools that prefer a more subtle aesthetic.

Many schools choose colours that complement existing interiors, branding or wellbeing strategies, whilst others opt for bespoke combinations tailored to specific environments.

From vibrant themed designs to understated fabric finishes, every SafeSpace#6 Pod is designed around the needs of the pupils who use it.

Supporting Schools Across the UK

The Explorer and Aspire collections build upon AgileAcoustics' extensive experience within the education sector.

Our SafeSpace Pods, reading spaces and acoustic environments can now be found in schools across the UK, helping create supportive spaces for reading, SEND provision, emotional regulation and wellbeing.

One recent example was our work with Newcastle City Council, where multiple schools invested in AgileAcoustics pods to provide pupils with access to quieter, more supportive learning environments.

As schools continue to seek innovative ways to support an increasingly diverse range of pupil needs, we believe educational spaces should not only be functional, but also inspiring.
