A Busy Summer of Pod Installs for Newcastle Schools

It’s been a busy summer here at AgileAcoustics, with our design and installation teams out on the road creating bespoke acoustic pod solutions for several schools in the Newcastle area. Each project was unique, with Pods designed to make the very best use of the spaces available, while also supporting staff and students with dedicated quiet zones.
English Martyrs’ Primary School
Our first stop was English Martyrs’ Primary School, where the team created a quiet pod space for 1-1 working between teachers and pupils. What makes this installation extra special is its location — the Pod was designed to sit neatly in an under-used stairwell area, transforming a previously overlooked space into a valuable teaching and learning environment.
Dinnington First School
Next up was Dinnington First School, who had the vision to install not one but two Pods in their library area. After exploring the options, our AgilePOD#10 proved to be the perfect fit. We were especially pleased with how the school’s choice of wool fabrics complemented the surrounding interior, blending seamlessly into the library environment while providing the privacy and acoustic performance needed for focused learning.
Our Lady & St Anne’s
Completing the set was Our Lady & St Anne’s, which presented us with a new challenge — installing a Pod on a sloping floor. This was a first for us, and one we were excited to take on. To make it work, we designed and manufactured a bespoke sub-floor system that ensured the Pod sat perfectly level, maintaining comfort, safety, and performance.
Looking Ahead
We can’t wait to hear feedback from the schools and see how these Pods are being used day to day. Whether it’s for 1-1 learning, small group activities, or simply providing a calm retreat away from the classroom, we know from experience that acoustic Pods can transform teaching environments. For both pupils and teachers, these spaces are about more than just acoustics — they help create the right conditions for focus, wellbeing, and meaningful learning.
