Every teacher knows the moment.
A pupil becomes overwhelmed, anxious or dysregulated, and suddenly a Teaching Assistant has to leave the classroom to provide support elsewhere. Whilst this may be the right decision for the individual child, it can also mean reduced support for the rest of the class, disruption to learning and a child becoming disconnected from their classroom environment.
What if there was another way?
At AgileAcoustics, we've spent the last few years working alongside schools, local authorities and inclusion specialists to better understand how learning environments can better support children with SEND. Those conversations have led us to develop something we believe is genuinely different.

A different way of thinking about safe spaces
Traditional sensory rooms and intervention spaces undoubtedly have an important role to play. However, they are often located elsewhere in the school, meaning pupils and Teaching Assistants may need to leave the classroom whenever additional support is required.
SafeSpace Nest has been designed around a different philosophy.
Instead of taking the child away from learning, SafeSpace Nest creates a calming, semi-enclosed regulation space within the classroom itself, helping pupils remain connected to their teacher, classmates and learning environment.
This simple shift has the potential to reduce disruption, encourage inclusion and allow Teaching Assistants to continue supporting children without leaving the classroom.

No two pupils are the same, and no classroom remains unchanged throughout the school year.
That's why SafeSpace Nest has been designed to physically adapt.
In its compact 'Nested' position, it provides a reassuring regulation space with a minimal footprint. When additional support is needed, the pod expands in seconds to create a larger intervention space where a pupil and Teaching Assistant can work together more comfortably.
The result is one product capable of supporting multiple teaching approaches, intervention styles and pupil needs throughout the school day.
Designed to evolve with your school
One of the biggest challenges schools face is ensuring today's investment continues to meet tomorrow's requirements.
SafeSpace Nest has been developed with that in mind.
Combined with our patent-pending Raise&Relocate™ technology, the pod can be safely raised and relocated around the school with minimal effort. As classrooms change, year groups move or SEND provision evolves, SafeSpace Nest can evolve alongside them.

Throughout the development of SafeSpace Nest, we've worked closely with schools, local authorities and inclusion specialists to ensure it addresses the genuine challenges faced by education settings every day.
During an early prototype demonstration with education specialists, one comment immediately stood out:
"The major USP is that the Teaching Assistant doesn't need to leave the classroom when a pupil needs to regulate."
For us, that perfectly captures what SafeSpace Nest is all about.
The innovation isn't simply that the pod expands or nests. It's that it enables schools to provide the right support, in the right place, at the right time—without removing either the pupil or the Teaching Assistant from the classroom.
