From Idea to Pod in 3 Weeks: Introducing AgilePOD#9 (D) with Raise&Relocate

Date 12.03.2026 Author: Stuart Jones

Three weeks ago, a global brand approached us with interest in using one of our Raise&Relocate Pods in their London office.

Naturally, we were excited.

But when we reviewed their floorplans, we noticed something interesting. Their layout included a two-person, face-to-face pod, and at the time we didn’t have a pod in our range that matched that exact footprint.

Rather than see this as a limitation, we saw it as an opportunity.

A New Pod is Born

Within hours, our design team produced a 3D concept render showing how a new pod size could work within the client’s space. The response was positive, so we immediately began developing the design further.

The result is AgilePOD#9 (D) — a compact two-person pod designed specifically for face-to-face collaboration.

Not only did it neatly fill a gap in our product range, but we quickly realised the format would also work beautifully with our Raise&Relocate technology, allowing organisations to reposition the pod whenever their workspace evolves.

From Concept to Reality — in Just 3 Weeks

Because we design, prototype, manufacture and upholster everything in-house, we were able to move incredibly quickly.

Within days we had:

  • Produced detailed CAD drawings

  • CNC-cut the structural components

  • Built the sub-frame

  • Installed the Raise&Relocate lifting system

  • Upholstered and assembled the final pod

Three weeks later, the first AgilePOD#9 (D) Raise&Relocate Pod was complete.

Why Speed Matters

Workplaces evolve quickly. Teams change, departments move, and layouts rarely stay fixed for long.

By combining rapid in-house design capability with our Raise&Relocate technology, we’re helping organisations move away from static furniture and towards something more flexible — what we call Space-Adjustable Furniture.

Spaces that can evolve without costly refits.

A Live Demonstration in London

And fittingly, AgilePOD#9 (D) Raise&Relocate Pod has now been installed at UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) — a non-departmental public body sponsored by the Department for Science, Innovation and Technology (DSIT).

UKRI invests £8 billion of taxpayers’ money each year into research and innovation, and into the people who make it happen.

We couldn’t think of a better environment to put Raise&Relocate through its paces and share the concept with people who live and breathe innovation.

During this time, we’ll be inviting VIP workplace, estates and facilities leaders to see the technology in action and experience how easily the pod can be raised and repositioned within a workspace. Contact Stuart our CEO to arrange a private demo.

Sometimes the best ideas start with a simple question:

“Could you build something like this?”

With the right team, the answer is absolutely yes — in just three weeks.
