Accessible Acoustic Pod Design: Rethinking the Phone Booth Acoustic Pod
Date 22.04.2026 Author: Stuart Jones
We’ve started exploring a new direction for pod design—spaces that are both accessible and a little more abstract.
By rethinking the traditional phone booth format, we’ve removed the door and introduced angled forms to naturally create a wider, more accessible entrance. The result is a pod that feels more open, more inviting, and less enclosed—something we know can be important for users who are less comfortable in fully enclosed spaces.
This approach also maintains a stronger visual and spatial connection to the wider workplace, while still delivering a sense of acoustic retreat.
The angular wall design isn’t just functional—it becomes a feature in its own right. It’s something we’re now considering across larger pods and even within our Modulise system as a way to introduce more expressive, design-led elements into everyday workspaces.
It’s early thinking—but we’d love to know what you think of this direction.
